Kevin Smith, Olga Palmer and Sue McNamara had a very creative week in the remote town of Limogne in The Lot region of France. We met with Peter Young, scriptwriter and novelist, to assist in the production of an elearning programme for a major national UK home improvement company. With the lack of interruptions the team was very productive in achieving its aims. We believe we have an exceptional working model that will deliver the benefits of being environmentally aware to our clients’ staff and managers. We generated a number of quizzes to test their knowledge of the elearning programme. It is envisaged, with the help of a local film crew, that we will add real life footage of the home improvement company to enhance the learning experience.

Michele Berry, Manager of Kennford Playbox, has just won NVQhelp’s coveted champagne prize. Michele has nearly completed her NVQ level 4 in Child Care Learning and Development. There is a chance for all settings next year in the month of January of obtaining a free laptop and internet connection for 12 months by providing NVQhelp with 2 or more new candidates at levels 2 and 3.

Congratulations to Rosemary Willmer who has gained her NVQ4 in CCLD. Rosemarie’s Health and Social Care students can also feel really proud of themselves with their City & Guilds H&SC certificates in NQV2. Congratulations to Jacqueline Brimicombe who joins our high-flying team as leading assessor of Business Administration, and assessor of Leadership and Management. Four new assessors are being trained for our Working with Parents courses. We are offering new courses this coming term in Business Administration (levels 2,3 and 4) and Key Skills.

In July we had more CCLD successes with NVQ4s being awarded to Rebecca Hawken of Ermington Kids’ Club, Stacey McDonald of Sunflowers Day Nursery, Crediton, Heather Naish of Caen Caterpillars Pre School, Braunton, Leigh Passmore of Parkhill at Wilcombe near Tiverton, and Sharon Parrott of ABC Day Nursery, Cullompton. Warm congratulations to them all. And very big congratulations to Hayley Van-Gils, Operations Manager of the Happy Days Nursery, Newton Abbot, who has gained her NVQ5 in Management, and to childminders Sadie Warnes and Sandy Cluney who have received their level 4 Award in Management this August. Full CCLD NVQ4 certificates this August go to Louise Drew of the Exeter University Family Centre, Maria Roch and Stephanie Elms of Manor Pre-School and Out of School Club, Ivybridge, and Teresa Vowden of South Brent Pre School. In terms of quality NVhelp.co.uk are an A grade centre for City & Guilds and a centre for the Institute of Leadership and Management. We hold a strong group belief that National Vocational Qualifications help staff and organisations develop. A recent Ofsted report defines just how well an organisation was improving through two of their managers attending one of our programmes. We have many personal testimonies extolling the virtues of our programmes.

We do offer short bespoke courses but on the whole we prefer to give the opportunity to obtain formal recognition for attending a short course.

In terms of quickly, we try to get you through your NVQ as soon as possible. Quite often people achieve a level 4 with us in just 8 months.

We offer three routes to your NVQ. First the traditional route, where you produce a paper based portfolio and attend monthly workshops. Second, an e based portfolio where we use OneFile© to store all your writing and evidence. Learning is provided through our system called articulate©. Third a blended approach, where you can keep your portfolio on line and attend the monthly workshops.

Funding can be provided for most of our courses as we work with a Learning and Skills Council Funding partner.

We operate mainly in Devon, Dorset and Cornwall at present.
